Weekend Update {6.17.24}

It was a pretty good weekend, despite having to put my grandmother’s cat to sleep:/

Friday Night

Friday night was spent doing laundry, doing a little cleaning, and then relaxing.

I’ve been struggling to get any reading in lately, but I managed to read 3 or 4 chapters!

Saturday

I was determined to run, so I set my alarm and got up early (but not early enough for the cats, apparently)

Blue knows messing with the shades will make me move faster🤣

It was 72 degrees out, but a very VERY humid 72 degrees…but I got in 2.5 miles.

After the run, and while I was still sweaty (y’all it was super hot here Saturday), I watered some of the plants outside. They were struggling, like me HA! Once back inside, I made and drank my coffee, read some from Bible Recap, read some of my book, and loved on whatever cat decided to jump in my lap (Blue was the only one I managed to get a picture of).

With some reading and coffee finished, it was time for breakfast and Brokenwood Mysteries, continuing laundry, getting church work done, chores done, showers, supper, and more Brokenwood Mysteries.

At bedtime, I finished a blog post or two, read a little, and went to sleep!

She was not amused with picture-taking

Sunday

I was up with my alarm but somehow, I was “functioning” faster than usual LOL. I got ready for church, and had a little entertainment in the process. I don’t know what was so appealing about this dish cloth but Blue pulled it out of the laundry basket, gave it a good workover, then left it. Luna came and worked it over, and then Lucy came in, and stole it from Luna.

mid “argument” and right before Lucy oh-so-slyly stole it

Entertainment over, we finished getting ready, stopped at Starbucks, and headed to church. Father’s Day at church was great. The little kids honored the fathers with a Father’s Day breakfast, then we had Sunday School, worship, and the Word. It was all great 🙂

Then my mom and I stopped at Cracker Barrel to eat lunch. We did realize before we got there that it would probably be crowded because of Father’s Day. It was crowded but we didn’t wait too long to be seated (but long enough to both find coffee mugs to buy). We did have to wait a long time to get our food, but in their defense, they had a lot of people at that time. We did enjoy our lunch when we got it, ate, and then went home to relax and prepare for the upcoming week.

*linking up with Holly & Sarah for Hello Monday!
