It was not a Wicked weekend this time LOL. It was a fun and festive weekend though!
Friday
Friday was mostly laundry and relaxing. About halfway through the laundry, our dryer decided to start squealing so that added a little extra work HA. Thankfully my sister’s house is across the street so we could use hers and not have to go to the laundromat.
Saturday
Saturday morning, I was up early and out the door to run the St. Jude Half Marathon virtually. It was a crisp 23 degrees when I started but it warmed up some before I finished (it was still cold but not as cold as the start).
After my half marathon, I came home, drank coffee, ate breakfast, did a little church work, and took a shower. I wanted to make sure I took it early enough that my head wouldn’t freeze at the…
…Christmas parade! It was the biggest one yet! (…and I’ve been going to this parade since I was a child), Since we live so close to downtown, we just walk there and back. We did go to a new local coffee shop ahead of time. I had the Gingerbread Man (gingerbread, latte, cinnamon) and it was delicious!
Once we returned home from the parade, we ate supper while the load of towels dried over at my sister’s house. Then it was time for bed!
Sunday
Sunday morning was like most – we had Sunday School, followed by worship, and then, during preaching, the kids went to Children’s Church and practiced their Christmas songs. We left immediately after church to grab a bite to eat before…
…our local symphony’s Christmas concert. It is an annual tradition and we look forward to it every year! It was packed this year. It was great to see so many out and supporting the symphony:)
As soon as it was over, we headed home. I grabbed a bite to eat, changed into Christmas PJs, and headed back to the church for Cookies and Cocoa (for the church kids). We started doing this last year and it has grown in just one year. We love it! We have fun and the kids have fun. The children and their families built gingerbread houses, we ate cookies and drank cocoa, and we were visited by Santa, Mrs. Claus, and Buddy the Elf. Mrs. Claus even told/read us the true story of Christmas.
I was home before 8, and I was already ready for bed! It was a full day!
Happy Monday!
