It was a laid-back and rainy weekend. It was productive though!
Friday
Friday, after work, we had a few errands to run, so while we were out, we did some clothes shopping. We first stopped for groceries, took those home and put them up, then stopped at two clothing stores, and finally Lowes for kale and fall flowers to plant. I wish I had thought to take a picture of both.
By the time we got back home, it was dark and time for supper. The rest of the night was spent eating supper, watching TV, and reading.
Saturday
Saturday morning, I had an alarm set to get up and run. I knew it was supposed to be raining but I was hoping it would hold off until I could get my run in, but when I woke up, it was raining. I was trying to talk myself to running in the rain, but it started raining harder, so I laid back down, and went back to sleep.
Once I got up, I changed the sheets on the bed, and then sat down with a cup of coffee and a book…and a cat 🙂
We ate breakfast and watched Elementary, and then it was time to get some things accomplished.
My mom worked on planting the kale and flowers we had bought the night before, while I finished the Christmas tree at my sister’s (what used to be my grandmother’s) house. My mom had wanted to finish cleaning something at that house, so when she finished outside, she came in and got that finished.
We were soon finished with everything there, so I got to work on FINALLY finishing getting my clothes swapped from summer to winter. I’ve been trying for quite a while but with my 25K trail run, church homecoming, then 5K coordinating, it just wasn’t happening. While I was working on that, I finished washing and drying the laundry. I had a few things to do for church, but it didn’t take long. By the time it was all finished, it was time for a shower, supper, and relaxing.
Sunday
Sunday morning was our Next Step Sunday but on the way, like every Sunday, I stopped at Starbucks. I got my first Christmas cup of the season! On the way, I noticed that our town has Christmas decorations further out from the downtown/Main street area. Our Main Street committee has been improving on the decorations every year for the last few years, but this year, they have been able to bring it further out, and I’m loving it!
After a wonderful service, we had our monthly “Welcome to the Church” luncheon. We had it at the church this time, and we may keep doing this. We liked not having to go somewhere and bring rushed. Once this was over, I headed home to relax for the rest of the night. Remember I said at the beginning of this post that it was a rainy weekend? it produced a beautiful double rainbow not too long before sunset. Not a bad end to the weekend!
Happy Monday!
