Wednesday Hodgepodge [4.24.24]

Happy Wednesday, friends! I just found Joyce‘s Wednesday Hodgepodge linkup last week, thanks to another blogger (Jennifer) that I follow and link up with at other times. Since I had a post planned for today, and wasn’t needing something to fill up the week like last time, I hadn’t planned on joining in this week. However, prompt #2 got my attention so you get a bonus Wednesday post this week! Here are this week’s questions with my answers in italics.

1. When did you last have cancelled plans? Were you happy about that or disappointed?

I honestly don’t remember the last time I had cancelled plans, but I also don’t remember being disappointed. I like to be at home 🙂

2. On a scale of 1-10 how much of a planner are you? (1 = I go where the wind takes me; 10=I’ve got a PowerPoint on it, no matter what it is)

LOL…this is the reason I joined in with the linkup today! I am rarely a 1. I might be close but I like to have an idea of what’s going on so…🤷🏼‍♀️ But I could be anywhere from a 2 to a 10. I don’t necessarily have a PowerPoint on it, but when it comes to traveling, I do have a typed, detailed list of EVERYTHING to pack. I also have a planner that details everything I need to do. It is color coordinated (work, church, travel, personal, doctor’s appt., etc.)

3. Do you have a menu plan for the week? If so, tell us one or two things that are on it. If not, what’s your plan for not having a plan?

Short answer, no. Sometimes (it has been a while) I will plan to put something in the slow cooker, but that’s about the only planning that happens. I do know that on Wednesdays, on the way to church, we will eat out somewhere but that’s not really planning. That’s just out of necessity, not planning.

4. The Hodgepodge lands on National Bucket List Day. Do you have a bucket list? Is it written down or just in your head? What is one thing on your bucket list? If you don’t have a list, what is one thing you’d add to a list if you did? Yes, I’m going to make you think about it.

I do have a bucket list. It is partly written down, and partly in my head. One thing on my bucket list…skydiving. Not by myself – tandem, to an instructor, someone who does this ALL the time. Will I be scared to death? Yes I will, but I still want to do it.

5. Rain buckets, a drop in the bucket, couldn’t carry a tune in a bucket, sweat buckets, cry buckets…which ‘bucket’ idiom applies to your life in some way currently?

Honestly, none of these apply. But before too long, here in the South, I’m sure “sweat buckets” will apply :/

6. Insert your own random thought here.

Random thought right now? The older we get, the older everyone else gets, and the more funerals there will be. I don’t like it, but I know it is part of life. …and in case you’re wondering, or even if you’re not, I don’t think like this all the time – it’s just that I was at a visitation last night and the funeral today so it just had me up in my thoughts and feelings 🙁

Loved your answer to #2..I can be that way too. My mother in law wants to sky dive. Next year she turns 80 and I think we’re going to buy her a “spot” to do that.
