It’s time to look at the book I read in September! I had planned to read more books this month but I have been really busy, and when I wasn’t busy, I needed sleep, so I only got one book read…but it is better than nothing! 🙂
The Volunteer Code: How to Recruit and Care for Volunteers by Ryan Frank
★★★★.5
I couldn’t say it any better:
“Ryan Frank is convinced that your ministry will live or die based on your ability to recruit and keep amazing volunteers. As a pastor and ministry coach, he knows that volunteers are the lifeblood of any ministry. In this book, Ryan shares 10 Laws to help you crack the volunteer code and have a breakthrough like never before.
- Polish your people skills so that people want to serve with you.
- Move people from volunteers to invested leaders who don’t want to quit.
- Get a vision for your ministry that will inspire people.
- Train your leaders well so they are ready to take on significant roles.
- Provide growth opportunities so that volunteers don’t burn out.
- Give lots of encouragement because, after all, good volunteers are hard to come by.”
As a leader in the church, I gained a lot of insight on how to train, keep, and encourage those who are volunteering, no matter the area within the church. I know there are others that this will help, and I am glad to be able to share it with those leaders as well.
