It’s time for another Monthly Musing!! This time I’m talking about how we show love. It looks like a lot of these would be related to a significant other. I don’t have one of those, but I’m still joining in, and if I think it pertains to an SO, then the answer will be hypothetical 🙂

1. What is your love language?
I would say a little bit of four of the 5: words of affirmation, quality time, acts of service, and receiving gifts. But narrowing it down, I would say more quality time. I love spending time with my family and friends (I should say my closest friends), whether it is just sitting and talking/laughing, watching a movie together, traveling together, or even doing something adventurous together. I like being with them.
2. Favorite love songs?
There are so many that I like, you know… if I had an SO – but the first one that popped into my head is “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing”.
3. Flowers, chocolate, or something else?
I like flowers and chocolate, but “diamonds are a girl’s best friend”. Honestly, as long as it is from the heart, I’d be happy 🙂

4. Favorite romantic/rom-com movie?
I don’t know that I have a favorite. I do like a good romcom, so there are a lot that I could name.
5. Favorite childhood Valentine’s memory?
In high school, Valentine’s was a hard day for me. I would say I hated it (I’m not even going to go into details why. I think now about how dumb it was to be upset but that was life of a teenage girl I suppose).. Anyway, one Valentine’s Day, I think it was my senior year, someone (a teacher or principal or someone) had us come into the auditorium and they gave us letters from our parents. I don’t know if this arranged for Valentine’s or something else, but it was on Valentine’s Day so it will always be a Valentine’s memory that I will remember. My mom’s letter made me cry!
6. How did you celebrate Valentine’s Day?
I worked…because it was a Friday HAHA. Then I spent the rest of the night at home, and loved it 🙂 My sister did make some chocolate-covered strawberries for her boyfriend and herself, but she brought us some too.
7. Any love or romance traditions?
Short and simple – No.
8. When do you feel most loved?
When I am spending time when “my people”.
9. Big night out or chill at home?
Chill at home.
10. Do you wear red/pink on Valentine’s Day?
Well, I hate Valentine’s Day a lot less now, so I will actually wear red or pink. I wore this sweatshirt 😉

I love your t-shirt! That’s usually true of me as well! I also feel loved when I’m surrounded by my people.
Oh I need your shirt!!! And I love the day when you received a letter from your mom. What an amazing, inclusive tradition.
Oh that sweatshirt is adorable!
In high school Valentine’s Day was super hard for me too. Thank you for joining us this month.
