It’s time for another Monthly Musing with Holly & Patty!! This time I’m talking about holiday fun.
1. Any holiday parties on tap?
Friendsgiving at church, Cookies & Cocoa for the church children, Sunday School Christmas parties, and then our Care Group Christmas party on January 5 (our church calendar is full so we are extending Christmas celebrations a little longer).
2. Best holiday prep advice?
Start early. If it can be done ahead of time, do it.
3. Share a holiday appetizer recipe that is a crowd-pleaser.
Sausage dip! I can eat it myself, but the spoonfuls! But it is really delicious with corn chips (or Scoops).
4. What holidays do you celebrate in November and December?
Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years Eve [though I’m almost always celebrating at home in my PJs ;)]
5. Favorite holiday beverage – alcohol or alcohol-free.
Apple cider or peppermint mocha.
6. What part of holiday prep is a total struggle for you?
Preparing food. I don’t like cooking or cleaning up. I will do it if necessary, but I don’t like it.
7. Go-to holiday outfit?
PJs! LOL If I’m going somewhere for a celebration, I will wear something with a pumpkin or fall-y looking (for Thanksgiving), usually red or green, or a Christmas color (for Christmas), and New Years is just whatever my mood is 🙂
8. Do you send out holiday cards?
No. I used to, but then got too busy and it slipped up on me. I haven’t in a few years now, but I have intentions of doing it again…maybe someday I’ll get it it together again.
9. Black Friday shopper? Yes or heck no!
Heck no!! …at least not in-store. It is way too people-y. I would go with my cousin and her mom when I was younger. It was almost like a sport with her mom, and being with and watching her was fun. But now, it is an absolute no! I will likely lose all Christmas cheer and forget that I was just thankful the day before. The crowd stresses me.
10. Do you listen to holiday music before or after Thanksgiving?
HAHA…definitely before!! I just won’t tell you how long before 😀
