Today I’m going to look at my morning routine. Parts of each day are the same, but there are quite a few differences. I will share Monday-Friday, then run Saturdays and non-run Saturdays, and then Sunday morning routines. None of it is anything fancy, but this is the routine (with very few pictures):
Monday – Friday
Depending on the day, I get up at either 4:15 or 5:15 am. The alarm goes off, and I sit up and try to get myself together (LOL…I’m not a morning person).
Sometimes I check Facebook while I’m doing this, but sometimes it doesn’t take me long and I get up pretty quickly. I head toward the kitchen but I have to round up the cats and close them in the office (have you ever opened 2 cans of cat food with 3 hungry cats around? IYKYK)
Once they are contained, I put their food into the bowls and then I let them out to eat. After they finish (I have to watch that they don’t steal each other’s food), I start working on coffee. While that is happening, I will go fix my hair and brush my teeth. If I am going into the office, I will get my breakfast and lunch together after that. If it is a WFH day, I will just fix my coffee and worry about breakfast later. On “In the office” days, after getting my coffee, breakfast, and lunch together, I will go make up my bed, get dressed for work, gather my stuff up, and head out. On WFH days, I will go make my bed, grab my planner, and go sit at the computer desk.
Run Saturdays
On race Saturdays, the alarm depends on the start of the race and how far I have to drive. But, for training Saturdays, the alarm goes off at 6:15 am. (I sometimes set an alarm to take sinus meds because, if I wake at 6:15 with a sinus headache, I will not be running. The sinus meds is “preventive”.)
Much like Monday – Friday, I either check Facebook, or “spring” from the bed (not really HA!), and head into the kitchen to feed the cats. When they are finished eating, I go into my room, make the bed, put on my running clothes, and head out!
Once I am back from my run, I will make and drink a cup of coffee and eat breakfast, usually while watching something on AcornTV or BritBox. After coffee and breakfast, I start to work on whatever needs to be done (church work, housework, etc.)
No-Run Saturdays
Most of the time, it is a “no-run” Saturday for a reason – I have somewhere I need to be – but on the rare occasion that I have nothing and can just sit at home, I don’t set an alarm. I get up when I wake up. I make my bed, feed the cats (unless I’m the last one up), fix my coffee, and drink that while reading 🙂 when my coffee is finished, I begin working on whatever needs to be done.
Sundays
The alarm goes off at 6:15 am, and I get up and go feed the cats.
Once they are fed, I fix my hair and brush my teeth, and then go back into my room to make my bed. I get ready for church, and we head out. We make a stop at Starbucks for coffee and breakfast and then go to the church to get ready for 10 am service. Sunday School starts at 10, and worship & word at 11.
