A new month!! Let’s see what am I currently up to 🙂
LOVING
seeing my downtown decorated for the holiday, and for an upcoming festival this weekend. Speaking of the festival, a little local history for you: Slugburgers were started in my hometown in 1917. Consisting of a patty made from a mixture of beef or pork and an inexpensive meat extender such as soybeans, deep fried in oil, and served on a bun with mustard, pickles, onion. Believe me, it is delicious. Don’t knock it until you try it. “Slug” comes from the slang for a nickel, which is what they cost at the time. It does not come from the slimy gastropod. However, the character used for the festival is a cute slug.
SAVORING
It’s that time of year! sliced cucumber + chive & onion cream cheese spread + everything but the bagel seasoning
CELEBRATING
July 4th, my mom’s birthday (also on the 4th 😊), and my friend’s birthday on Saturday. Nothing special planned but I’m still celebrating them both.
REMEMBERING
My mom and I were in Bar Harbor, ME five years ago. I’m ready to go back!
TRYING
to keep it all straight HA! We have several events going on during the 3rd and 4th quarters at church and then just events outside of church, so I’m having to do what it takes to keep it all straight. But, with the exception of July & August (it’s hot), I love this time of year. September through December is my favorite!:)
…also…
MAKING
to-do lists. see above HA!
BUYING
a new Christmas tree!! That probably excites me more than it should HA!

I was just telling my husband yesterday that I love that all the churches and local businesses in town decorate for the holidays! It’s beautiful to see all the flags waving! Interesting about the slugburgers! I’d try one! I’m also going to have to try that cucumber recipe! Sounds delicious!
I feel that I have to have the cucumbers every summer! I’d have them in the winter too if I could get some good ones HA!
What a great list of things you’re currently up to! I’ve heard several people mention how busy they are in the summer, so you’re not alone. Thanks for joining us today!
Thank you! I enjoy joining in!
Oh, cucumbers are in abundance here right now so I’m going to have to try some with cream cheese because that’s sounding delicious 🙂
To be honest, I would eat cucumber but wasn’t a big fan…until I tried it this way. Now I can’t eat it any other way!
I love making plans and having things to look forward to, but it definitely can be a bit hard to keep it all together sometimes!
Oh my goodness yes!
