Books set in Hawaii

This week’s topic is a freebie, so, since I am looking forward to October, for a trip to Hawaii for a friend’s 50th birthday, I thought reading books set in Hawaii would be fun 🙂

1. The Color of Air – Gail Tsukiyama

2. The Unhoneymooners – Christina Lauren

3. Freckled – TW Neal

4. About a Girl – Lindsey Kelk

5. The Islands at the End of the World / The Girl at the Center of the World – Austin Aslan

6. Red Sky Over Hawaii – Sara Ackerman

7. Unfamiliar Fishes – Sarah Vowell

8. Rogue Wave – Boyd Morrison

9. Blood Orchids – Toby Neal

10. Captive Paradise – James L. Haley

…and because I found so many that I want to read, I couldn’t stop at 10…

Bonus #1: Try Easy – Jill Brashear

Bonus #2: Simmer Down – Sarah Smith

Bonus #3: Reckless Girls – Rachel Hawkins

I already own this and it is on my TBR for the summer! I can get a headstart on my Hawaii reads!

      Thank you!

I’ll have to check out your picks for Rome. I hope to visit there someday too!

I loved the Islands at the End of the World duology, such a creative story.

Funnily enough, the last book I finished was also set in Hawaii! A YA novel — Summer of Sloane. It definitely brought the beauty of the place to life and made me want to alternately hang out on the beach and hike to a waterfall for a picnic lunch.

I love that you chose books set in Hawaii for your list this week! Hawaii (Maui specifically) is one of my most favorite places on earth. 😀

I’ve never been to Hawaii but I have a feeling it will be one of my favorites after I go!
