Bookish Brags & Confessions

This week’s topic: bookish brags or confessions – what am I proud of, or not proud of in my bookish life? I thought about doing just one or the other but decided to have a mix of both.

Bookish Brag #1: I have 3 books waiting for me to read and review on NetGalley.

I know that probably isn’t that big of a deal to some because they read WAY MORE than I do, but when I first started, I was getting discouraged that I wasn’t getting picked to review books before release.

Bookish Brag #2: Jana liked one of my freebie topics last year and has chosen it for November 12th.

I am thrilled that my idea was worthy of Top Ten Tuesday!

Bookish Brag #3: I have been to “Word on the Water” and bought a book.

“Word on the Water” is a book barge in Regent’s Canal in London. I just happened upon it while researching before my trip to London and was thrilled to be able to fit it into one of my days there!

Bookish Brag #4: I have several different stacks of books ready for seasonal TBR lists.

I was going through the new books that I have acquired/bought lately and decided to organize them. Without really realizing it, at least at first, I was organizing them into “certain” stacks.

Bookish Brag #5: I donate books to my local library.

It is hard to part with books, but I am making the effort to get rid of books from time to time, and what better way than to donate them?

Bookish Confession #1: My TBR list keeps growing and growing, and I don’t know how I’m going to be able to get them all read.

But, you can’t have too many books, right?!

Bookish Confession #2: If I walk into a bookstore, I will more than likely come out with at least one book.

It is very very rare that I haven’t come out of a bookstore with a book (or ten).

Bookish Confession #3: I need to go to the library more than I currently do to check out books.

I love going to the library so I don’t know why I’m not going more.

Bookish Confession #4: I need to put my phone down more so I can get more reading done.

In my defense, sometimes I am too tired to comprehend anything I would be reading, and looking at the phone is usually mindless.

Bookish Confession #5: I compare the quantity of my reading to others.

I know I shouldn’t. Everyone’s lives and situations are different. I will add that I am doing better at this, but I do still find that I am still comparing myself to others at times.

I loved your idea (the Bookish Brags & Confessions). I don’t think I would have thought of something like that.

I hope I enjoy the Netgalley books too! I’m looking forward to reading them, and finding out.

I wish you had too! I truly do hate you didn’t get to visit it. I just happened to accidentally find it while researching something else. Maybe you will get back go back someday, and now you know about it so you can visit it then!

You have many awesome things to be proud of, but as someone who buys a lotta books from the sale corner of the library: on behalf of myself and others like me, thank you specifically for brag #5.

      You’re welcome.

I do appreciate that books are donated as well. I have been able to read newer books before without having (or needing) to buy it. Someone else had donated it, and I was able to check it out. I didn’t realize until a few years ago that we could donate to the library but I am so glad that I found out about it.

So I read your first brag as you ONLY have three books left to read and review on Netgalley…probably because one of my confessions is that I have over 600 books I need to read and/or review on Netgalley. I have no self-control.

But I can confidently say, the more you read and review on there, the more you get approved, even when your feedback percentage is abysmal.

I hope you have a great rest of your week.

Lol…the first brag probably should say, I finally have 3 to review. I wish I had more.

I do feel like the one I have reviewed probably helped me get these three.
