Happy Wednesday, friends! It’s time for Joyce‘s Wednesday Hodgepodge linkup. Here are this week’s questions with my answers in italics.
1. What’s a task you do on a regular (or semi-regular basis) that feels like it should be an Olympic event?
changing the sheets on the bed!
2. What’s in the trunk of your car right now?
If I had been asked this two or three weeks ago, I would have had clothes to donate, and then community event “goody bags”, but right now, I have insulated grocery bags, and that’s it!
3. Summer foods vs. fall foods…which do you prefer?
both!!
Would you rather:
- watermelon or caramel apple?
- iced coffee or pumpkin spiced latte?
- potato salad or sweet potato casserole?
- barbecued ribs or roast turkey?
- ice cream sandwich or apple pie?
- corn on the cob or candy corn?
4. August 7th is National Lighthouse Day. Have you visited any lighthouses? Do you have a favorite? Is a lighthouse something you seek out if you’re visiting an area known for theirs?
I have visited the Old Akranes Lighthouse in Akranes, Iceland. My mom and I climbed all the way to the top. I haven’t technically visited it (I don’t think that it is possible anymore) but I will count Morris Island lighthouse. I think my favorite is Morris Island lighthouse even though I haven’t “visited” it. It will always be a part of my memories from summer vacations to Folly Island, SC. I wouldn’t say that I will purposely seek out lighthouses but if I know that there is one somewhere I am visiting, and time allows, I will make a point to go see it, and maybe go inside. I do thank they are pretty so I do try to get pictures of them.
5. Light at the end of the tunnel, out like a light, give the green light, a lightbulb moment, in a new light, in the limelight…of the ‘light’ idioms listed which applies in some way to your life lately? Explain.
I think all of them except “in the limelight” has applied at some point lately. There are days when I’m completely covered up with both work work and church work, and all the other things too, so at some point, I finally see the “light at the end of the tunnel”. When I got to bed, I’m almost always “out like a light”. I’ve been “given the green light” to get a few things done for both church and work. I have also had “a lightbulb moment” or two and I’ve been able to see a thing or two “in a new light” lately.
Comments
I live in SC but have not visited that light house. Thanks for joining the Hodgepodge this past week. I’m a bit slow getting around to everyone, but enjoyed reading your answers. Hope you had a nice weekend!
