It was a very productive weekend. I finally got some things done that I’ve been wanting to do for a while.
Friday
Friday was much the same – I started laundry and then “started” working on my room decluttering/reorganization. Before long, it was time for supper, and then bedtime.
Saturday
I had planned to get up and run Saturday morning but the humidity was 98%. I was already so hot and humid that early in the morning. I just wasn’t feeling like getting out in that, and risking being sick (I got sick after a humid run a year or two ago so now I’m a little concerned everytime it is that hot and humid early in the morning). But despite not running, and probably thanks to not running, I was able to be super productive!
After coffee of course!
We then ate breakfast, my mom went to work in what was my grandmother’s house, and I got to work on the pantry. Let me just say, this did not bring us joy…at all. Over the last few months, life has, well, been life. It was neglected, and it also became the room that collected everything.
After quite a bit of throwing away, and organizing, it now looks like this. Some of it didn’t seem to change much but things are better organized, out-of-date things are gone, and the floor is clear again!
From there, I moved on to my closet (well, one of them – it used to be my clothes closet but I have one now that extends along the length of my room so this is more storage and for out-of-season clothes). It is not finished but I did manage to make a dent. I threw things away, I organized things, and I have a plan on how to get it finished. (This is the before picture)
With lots of things accomplished, it was time for the rest of our Saturday routine – showers, supper & TV, and bedtime.
Sunday
Sunday was like most – Starbucks, Sunday School, church, and it was all great like always (I love church:)) After church, we had 9 people that wanted to be baptized, and if you remember from an earlier post, our church is in the process of an expansion & extension so our baptistry is currently out of commission. So, we headed down to the river (well, it is a waterway from the river) and baptized those nine. It was a blazing hot day, but it was great to be out there to experience it with them.
After the baptisms, we stopped for lunch, made a stop at Lowe’s, and then spent the rest of the afternoon and evening at home, getting work done, and preparing for the week ahead.
