Wednesday Hodgepodge [6.19.24]

Happy Wednesday, friends! I recently found Joyce‘s Wednesday Hodgepodge linkup and thought I would only join in when I didn’t already have a Wednesday post. However, sometimes the prompts are just too good to pass up! Here are this week’s questions with my answers in italics.

1. It’s National Splurge Day…what’s something you might splurge on today? What have you splurged on recently?

It wasn’t a splurge like the Athleta joggers but I did just buy some Libin joggers. They are equally comfortable 🙂

2. Do you have a beach bag? What’s in it? Is a trip to the beach on your summer bucket list? Do you have a summer bucket list?

I do have a beach bag. When I go to the beach, it has water, a book, sunscreen, and other essentials. I do not have a beach trip on my summer bucket list. I don’t even have a summer bucket list this year but if I did, I would have put the trip I am taking in August/September on it (London–>Scotland, via rail).

3. What’s a song that makes you think of a summer past? What comes to mind when you hear it? What memories does it stir up for you?

“Hotel California”. I don’t know why they played it every time but when I was studying abroad in Belize during the Summer of 2005, but after a test, there would be a “party” and they played “Hotel California” every single time. Now, every time I hear it, I think back to Belize.

4. Sushi-yay or nay? Have you actually tried it? If you love it what’s your go-to order?

Yes, I do like sushi if it has cooked fish. I haven’t tried many but my favorite is spicy salmon roll.

5. I own a ridiculous amount of ____________________________________.

BOOKS! (but I don’t think it is ridiculous LOL)

6. Insert your own random thought here.

I hope I can catch up on sleep this weekend because I am still lacking from VBS, and not being sleepy early enough each night.

  1. Joyce

Oooh, your trip sounds fabulous! I was just on the phone with my daughter and they have a trip planned to Scotland end of July. She and her family are moving to Cambridge for six months and we have our tickets booked to visit in September. I need to get busy with the specifics. Thanks for joining in today! p.s.-no such thing as too many books : )

  2. Ellen Bayles

We will be in Scotland in September with our oldest son and his dear wife. Getting excited. Your tour looks wonderful. I could have put books for an answer to #5, too.
