Monthly Musings: Summer Fun

It’s time for another Monthly Musing. This time we’re talking about summer fun – vacations, trips, and adventures!

1. Favorite Vacation Destinations?

Folly Beach/Charleston, SC; Bar Harbor, ME.

2. Best Packing Tips?

Make a list & use packing cubes.

3. Road Trips or Fly?

Fly! (I have issues with driving/riding that I don’t want to discuss here) However, when my mom and I went to Bar Harbor, we flew into Boston, MA, and drove to Bar Harbor, ME from there. We drove through Kennebunkport, ME and I did enjoy that.

4. Favorite Vacation Memory as a Child?

I know I took trips when I was much younger but I remember one when I was about 12-13 (yes, I was still a child lol). My mom took my sister, my friend, and me (and herself, obviously) to Folly Beach (the same one we went to for many years). It was after a rough time and she needed to get away. It was the first time we rode the horse-drawn carriages through downtown Charleston. These carriages go through Charleston and the drivers tell the history of Charleston. This trip was where my love of Folly Beach, Charleston, and the ocean started.

5. Ocean, Lake, or Mountains?

Ocean!!

6. Campout or Indoor Grill?

ok, so here’s the thing – Wood smoke gives me a migraine after a little while of exposure, so it’s a no-go for me. Also, it gets really hot and humid here in the summer so I’d rather be inside in the AC. now, give me some fall camping without wood smoke and I’m ready!

7. Favorite Summer Cocktail or Mocktail?

uhm…I don’t know. I just googled some summer mocktails and this looks good 🙂

8. Most Amazing Travel Upgrade Story?

I don’t think I have one 🤷🏼

9. Ice cream or popsicle?

ice cream all the way! Give me some homemade any day!

10. Do You Camp?

See #6. I would say yes, but there can’t be wood smoke (and when is there not when camping?).
