It was a busy weekend! I was a very good weekend but I am tired. I do not have pictures because I was too busy to get any HA! Here’s what I was up to…
Friday Night
Night 1 of Recovery Revival. (The Recovery Revival was started at our church a few years ago, as a weekend to not only worship and thank God for those in recovery but to also provide resources for those that need recovery or want to help others in recovery. Recovery could be from drugs, from homelessness, from hurts, habits, or hangups.) I only have one word for this first night: AMAZING! It was so wonderful to see so many that have recovered, but also those who are wanting to recover. So many lives were changed!
Saturday
Saturday morning was the Recovery Networking Conference, where different ministries came and detailed what resources they have available for those who need recovery. This networking conference has grown every year! The networking conference ended with Dr. Brad Wilson talking about something that secretly plagues so many and resources on how to overcome it (check out his website. I will not be putting the words on here because, who knows what algorithms it might trigger. We all know how the algorithms do sometimes).
After leaving the Recovery Networking Conference, we headed home to “rest”, which basically meant that I started laundry, and worked on getting church work done (announcements, baptismal certificates, service order printed, etc.), showers, and supper, all before heading back to the church for night 2 of Recovery Revival. Again, so many lives changed. One word: AWESOME!
Sunday
Sunday was like any other Sunday as far as what I need to do, but it was the 3rd service in the Recovery Revival. Like most Sundays, I woke up early, fed the cats, and got ready for church. On the way to church, we stopped at Starbucks for cappuccinos and egg bites:) Once we got to church, our work continues (mine as admin asst; my mom’s as media/lyric producer). We do stop to eat our breakfast. A typical morning means I am getting baptismal certificates signed, making copies and distributing the Service Order for the day, and making whatever other copies might need to be made. The rest of the time is usually spent still doing various other things that I need to. Sunday School was from 10:00 to 10:45, then the children come down for Worship. We have Worship and Word from 11:00 to 12:00-12:30. Most Sundays, we go home and relax and work on getting things together for the week. This Sunday was no different. Thankfully we didn’t need to make any stops on the way home. We ate lunch and watched “Beyond Paradise”. I did start work on the announcement for our Community Easter Egg Hunt, and continued to work on laundry. Then it was time for supper and “Dr. Blake Mysteries” and then it was reading and bedtime!
*linking up with Holly & Sarah for Hello Monday!
