I have been planning to talk about my favorites in terms of fitness but I just never managed to get around to it, until now. These are just a few things that I love when it comes to working out, walking, running, and anything else you might consider fitness.
*Strava
This is the app I use when running (I’ve used others but this is my favorite). It also records
hikes, workouts, biking, skiing, swimming, and so much more. I love that I can look back at all
of my runs (or anything I’ve recorded) in one place. It also gives the distance for the (current)
week, month, and then for the year. I have also used it a few times to manually enter my gym
workouts.
**side note: if getting “KUDOS” makes you happy, your friends can send those to you in the app
*running earbuds
These are one of the greatest running purchases I’ve made. Notice the earbuds have an arm
that hooks over the ear. They really do stay in while running. Since most of my running is
outside, on city streets, I only wear one so I can hear cars and dogs…and people. I “hook” the
other one to my shirt or to my bra strap.
*seasonal changes
I really enjoy running in all (most, ha!) of the seasons. In the spring, everything is blooming,
especially daffodils. In the summer, everything has bloomed and is usually pretty and green.
During the fall, the leaves are changing. Winter doesn’t really have growth but I really enjoy the
cold.
*feelings
Most days, I love running. Even on the days I’m not necessrily loving it, I like it because it is
making me healthier. I also love the feeling of being outside. In the fall, the leaves are changing
and falling, and the air is getting cooler. In the winter, it’s cold, and that’s always better than
sweltering MS heat and humidity. In the spring, everything is green and blooming.
…and that runner’s high? YEP! LOVE THAT!!
*music
Running needs faster music and Pandora’s Running playlist is exactly what I need
*running water bottle
This has been great this summer! I was determined to continue running this summer, despite
the MS heat and humidity, so I started looking for a running water bottle. A friend recommended
this and I am so glad I order one. It has a handle (it reminds me of a backpack) that fits over
either hand and is very easy to carry. The pocket is big enough for keys, money, lip gloss,
driver’s license because you never know, and more. I’m sure some phones will fit in it but mine
is too big and bulky with the cover. The way the top of the bottle is made, you can leave it open
(up) and the water will not spill out while running. You have to squeeze the bottle to get the
water to come out.
*pepper spray
This one I am not happy about but it is a necessity now. (A jogger was attacked by 5 pitbulls in
my hometown at the beginning of this week). While I hate that I now need to carry pepper spray,
I am thankful to have it, in case I ever need it.
Linking up with Andrea and Erika for Friday Favorites. Have a great weekend!
