Hodgepodge of Opportunity [1.15.25]

Happy Wednesday, friends! It is the first day of 2025!! A new start, a clean slate! Let’s do this!! It’s time for Joyce‘s Wednesday Hodgepodge linkup! Here are this week’s questions with my answers in italics.

1. It’s been said January is ‘the month of opportunity, inspiration, and change.” Which of the three do you need most right now? Elaborate.

Opportunity…to travel a lot, to visit new places, to explore.

2. Do you consider opportunity as something that comes to you or something you create for yourself?

I think it is both. It seems to come to you, but you can also put yourself in positions so that the opportunity comes, so I think that is creating it for yourself.

3. The British Museum opened on this date (January 15th) back in 1759. Do you like visiting museums? Do you have a favorite?

I do like visiting most museums. I don’t know that I have a favorite, or at least not one that currently sticks out in my mind.

4.  It’s National Oatmeal Month (yes, apparently it gets a whole month as opposed to a single day). Do you like oatmeal? How often do you eat a bowl of oatmeal? How do you like yours? What about an oatmeal cookie? Is that a sweet treat you enjoy?

I do like oatmeal. I don’t eat it a lot but when I do, I usually just put a little bit of brown sugar in it. It is good 🙂 I do like oatmeal cookies, especially oatmeal creme pie…you know the ones.

5.  What’s something useful you learned in high school?

Honestly, this is the first thing that popped into my head HAHA: PEMDAS, or “Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally” – Parentheses, exponents, multiplication, division, addition, subtraction (order of operations).

6. Insert your own random thought here.

So… I have traced my family tree back to Adam and Eve. No joke!! (if you haven’t heard of it, check out familysearch.org) I first traced it back to Joseph of Arimathea, but now I have it traced back to Adam and Eve on two different branches.
