I recently found this linkup and I wanted to join in with Marsha in the Middle. Every month has a different prompt but I’m starting with January’s: 10 things you either want to remember or forget about 2024. I decided to list them per month so this will be 12 on the 10th:) I had fun looking back through the year!
January
From January 2024, I want to remember the Resolution Run and breakfast, the Great Scorpion 12.5K trail run, snow!, peppermint mocha with actual bits of peppermint on top, a possum friend while on a downtown neighborhood run, and the time ALL of the neighborhood cats congregated on our porch :/ HAHA
February
February 2024 brought Super Bowl LVII and an Usher halftime performance, “For God So Loved the World…” love theme in the Clubhouse, ridding the backyard of bamboo (or attempting to), daffodils, Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure with friends, and inside cats curious of the outside neighborhood cats.
March
In March, there were more daffodils, “moving giraffes” behind a fence, a St. Paddy’s Day run, more runs in town, a Community egg hunt, and cute bunny cupcakes.
April
In April, we had the local 5K and a 3rd-place age group finish, a growing clematis, a solar eclipse, a beautifully mulched flower bed, a 10K trail run, lunch on the porch, and days with open windows!
May
May wasn’t the greatest month because I lost my grandmother but I do want to remember all of the memories of her:) May also saw derby weekend, the local 10K run, Northern lights in the South, another local 10K in Elvis’s birthplace, Mother’s Day, beautiful days on the deck, and kitty cuddles.
June
June had more lunches on the deck, Vacation Bible School and the much needed “fuel”, more neighborhood runs, open windows, homegrown vegetables, beautiful blooming flowers, and the Celine Dion documentary.
July
July is hot but brought our local Slugburger festival, time on the porch, morning runs, and more flowers.
August
August saw Blue reading HA!, our biggest Ladies Conference to date, and traveling to London!!
September
September saw a lot of London and Scotland: afternoon tea at the Ritz, Coke with lemon, Harrod’s food hall & Christmas “floor”, Sunday roast, a book barge, a train from London to Glasgow, food from Marks and Spencer, THE BEST guide Tony, castles, cathedrals, whisky distilling and tasting, “highlan coos”, pipers, lochs, glens, midges:|, The Jacobite over Glennfinnan viaduct, a ferry ride, Mallaig, seals, more castles, Plockton, Inverness, mountain climbing in Aviemore, train stations, more castles, and Edinburgh.
The second half of September brought a rainy run at Shiloh, my 42nd birthday, and a community event that our church participates in.
October
Besides fall temperatures, October saw the opening show of the season for our local symphony orchestra, neighborhood runs, more Northern lights, big Halloween decorations, our Christmas tree going up, my favorite 25K trail run, our church anniversary, the 5K fundraiser I coordinate, the community Trunk or Treat, Pink Out Sunday, and tea on the porch 🙂
November
November brought Starbucks Christmas cups, winter plants in the flower bed, a virtual St. Jude 10K, the neighborhood cats “meeting”, cats relaxing in the sun, reading, Christmas mugs, a new favorite 10K trail run, our Care Group food board Friendsgiving, and finally Thanksgiving 🙂
December
December was full and festive: our Christmas decorations, virtual St. Jude Half, neighborhood Christmas decorations, downtown’s Christmas parade, the Symphony’s Christmas concert, “Cookies & Cocoa”, a Reindeer Run in a Rudolph onesie, my friend’s Chick-fil-A Christmas party, kitty cuddle puddles, fireplace lighting, Grinch mug, Christmas, and New Years Eve.
